           My plan for the first project is to take a little bit of an alternative spin on the whole deduction of quality. I’m going to try it on material I don’t usually use, and a media I haven’t used before. I’m going to recreate a distinct memory I had while in the passenger seat of my mum’s car years ago, I’m also doing it under a time constraint to lower the “quality” or detail I can achieve. 

So because it’s from memory, I do not have a before picture, but I’m confident I will like the piece

Filming!!

I’m going to show the first initial videos, they are not the ones I wish to submit for this, figured progress shown is a good idea  I actually struggled to grasp this assignment, in class I was half dead to the world and didn’t really get the guide. But I think I grasped it eventually and also quite enjoyed it. For the videos I found moments in my day to day life that just felt good to film. Like wandering into the bathroom to see how the light moved through the frosted window, or in the truck bed with a group of friends arguing about the cold 😂 I’m nervous for the bigger filming video, and I now know I certainly can’t bite off as much as I would have liked too due to my schedule and work load. That feels pretty shitty because I don’t think I’ll be able to get all I want out of this class, but we’ll figure it out on the way I suppose. Here are my final videos

Finished project 1

  I used black paper, I’ve had little to no experience working on black paper. As well as oil pastels, I haven’t got any sorta clue of how to use them, but I quite like how it turned out. I gave myself a time constrained to further develop the sense of degradation not only through memory and extended time, but the lack of time as well.
